"The way to God leads through our weaknesses and powerlessness. When we are stripped of all power we discover what God has in mind for us, what God can make of us when God fills us completely with divine grace. The place where we meet our own powerlessness is precisely where we become open to God. God educates us through our failure, through our 'backsliding.' Then God guides us on the path of humility that alone belongs to God."

Dear Brother Francis,
This is so timely and apposite in my life. It feels like another of those not-so-subtle nudges from God.
Also, I want you to know I gave an "Elf Help - Grief Therapy" booklet to each member of my grieving group. It has proved very wise and gently caring to me.
Thank you on both counts.

Hello, Br. Bernard!
Glad you found it helpful(and the grief book as well).
Usually, when I post a nugget of truth such as this, it is because I have also found it so. I haven't read much of Anselm Gruen's work, though I know he's written plenty. English versions are difficult to come by.
God's blessings,
Br. Francis
